Borden`s in Lafayette

Absolutely loved this place, it's like taking a step back in time. Just as I remember them growing up in Houston. My first job was at the one on Yale St.

A lot of different flavors available. I had the cookie sandwich with the prailene cream in the middle. Good pricing and friendly staff.

This is the last of the Borden's stores. The service was fast and friendly. Hot dogs, Frito pies, and nachos. Ice cream for desert.

Saturday June 8th, 15:30. Ice cream was delicious, and the staff members (in particular the one of short height, brown hair, and a big smile) had the most positive attitudes. However -- when you wait 25 minutes in a standing line, you see how the staff acts. Your job is to get the customer's order as quickly as possible with quality service. Talking about shift change and cracking jokes impedes your ability to take care of your customers. There's no reason to talk when there are orders to be done and the line's out the door.

They are amazing they was closed because of covid and let us use drive through to get my grandkids some ice cream becouse we don't drive I think it was amazing

Last 1 standing. The ice cream, tbh, is not much better than you can get at other shops, and the strawberry cheesecake ice cream I ordered was one of the worst I have tried (and strawberry cheesecake is my go-to at all places). In contrast, the chocolate chip cookie dough was one of the best. Worth trying once for the experience. Expect it to be busy.

Love getting custom flavored malts and shakes over here. My personal favorite is the black walnut malt. Hot dogs over here are better than Sonic. The hot dogs and chilli dogs over here are Hebrew National all beef franks. Great for an after school treat or a late night snack.

Decent ice cream place with an interesting history! They have ice creams,shakes, sundaes and coffee.

It was truly a treat. Had the banana split but couldn't eat it all. We were very glad we took the time to stop by during our road trip.

Love the golden vanilla ice cream shakes here brings you back in time as kid and not to many places serve the golden vanilla ice cream I find. Keep them things coming!!!!

A true local landmark! Borden’s is such a treasure; it brings back old memories and continues to make new ones. Although the ladies of my childhood are gone the ice cream is the same. The walnut sundae add strawberries is unstoppable! Get your own, you won’t want to share. The malts and cones are great too:) This is a Great place to take a few pictures of your kiddos!

The lines are long, parking sucks, but when you finally get your order you relize it's worth the wait.

My parents used to go on dates there when they were in their teens. They are almost 80 now, it's always been a brick in the make-up of Lafayette. Wonderful place.

This place is very cute. The staff is very friendly. The restaurant is adorable. There is ample seating, but this place always seems to be packed so plan accordingly. The ice cream was good. All the locals seem to love coming here .

The last Borden's Ice Cream Store left in the world! Boy am I glad they're still here. Outstanding custom-made, "just like you like them," ice cream treats served by smiling, friendly young people. Can't beat that!I hear people talking about that used to come here when they were little kids, sat at the little child size tables, and colored pictures with that crayons on the table. This place defines classic.

Went thru the drive-thru to get a vanilla ice cream cone. Service was great, friendly and quick.

Such a fun atmosphere and the staff was so friendly and sweet. The interior was full of nostalgic items. The ice cream was delicious.

Love this place! It's our little neighborhood ice cream shop. The prices are great, the ice cream is greater! My wife and I took my oldest as a reward, and 3 small (they call it a small, but it has 2 liberal scoops) cups cost just over 5 bucks. Everyone needs to go here!

Friendly service and yummy flavors!

You never need more than a single scoop, because the portions are always so generous. I love their cherry vanilla! They have water fountains for free unlike some other ice cream places that want to charge you for water, which I think is great.

Ice cream was delicious, tables weren't clean and 3 boys at the counter were in such a terrible mood that it half killed the fun of ice cream. The girl was cool though.

Truly, the 1950's Borden's Ice Cream Shop LIVES! I haven't been in one of these for at least 50 years. It was worth the wait!

I have never had a cookie ice cream sandwich before. At Borden's you create your own! So I ordered mint chocolate chip ice cream on chocolate chip cookies. It....was... Delicious! The cookies are bakes fresh and their texture was the perfect amount of soft. They held the ice cream without getting soggy. The place itself is nostalgic and wonderful. The employees were friendly and welcoming. The environment was clean... Including the bathrooms 😉. This is a stop that isn't just for tourists. Those that were ordering and eating, were locals. Not to be missed☺️ I appreciate and respect what has been done to preserve the time stamp that Borden's represents.
